How Should We Pray for Government Leaders?
“Meanwhile, believers are called upon to pray for “kings an all that are in high place” (1 Tim. 2:2). Paul indicates by his repetition of synonyms how important he considers this duty: ‘supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings.’ We are to pray and supplicate before the face of God for His blessing on earthly government in her service in the world ‘that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.’ We are to ask God that He, through government, will bless our lives and spread His justice through the world so that life may have opportunity to expand in service to Him.” G.C.
